Our programs are designed to meet the varied and complex needs of all Nunatsiavummiut, in all five Inuit communities. The NHC is particularly mandated to respond to the housing needs of Inuit who are vulnerable, meaning those living with addictions, homelessness, disabilities, violence in the home, or those who are on a fixed income or low-income, elders, youth, children in need of social protection, and families at risk of being separated from their children.
The Affordable Rental Program provides safe, affordable rental housing for lower-income Inuit individuals and families in Nunatsiavut who can live independently. This program is intended to help those facing challenges such as low income, overcrowded living conditions, homelessness, or unsafe housing. By offering affordable rental options, the program aims to support well-being and stability in Nunatsiavut communities.
